What is surprising is that as a percentage more SEOs are working on business pages than are checking analytics, evaluating back links, or even blogging. No form of inbound marketing was practiced by more SEOs than Facebook marketing was.

While Social is definitely extremely important, the other inbound marketing practices that go along with a good SEO strategy like content writing, back links, and especially blogging are still incredibly important. From the data in SEO Moz’s study it looks like most of these SEOs are just latching on to the new big thing and not thinking about how it all works together. Social media is never going to eclipse search and reaching a balance between social media and your traditional SEO practices is essential especially when you can have them all working together.
