Google+ Communities and SEO

Wikimotive Google+Google+ hasn’t really caught on, but that has not stopped Google from trying to force it on us at every possible turn. With their newest update, they may have finally succeeded in sucking us all in. Let us introduce to you their newest feature, one that makes Google+ a must for your Automotive search engine efforts: Google+ Communities.

Communities is how Google+ is going to compete with Facebook Groups. When you create a community, you can make it public or private, but we’ll focus on public because that’s obviously what you’ll need for your business.

To create a community, simply click the community tab on the left-hand side of your Google+ homepage. Once there, click “create a community”. When it brings up your privacy options, be sure to select “public” and “allow anyone to join”. You’re page will now be live, so be sure to customize it with your businesses usual social media branding.

People (including us) have been tough on Google+ in the past, but communities stands to represent a big change. It’s a change you care about, too, because it will likely result in some solid SEO benefits! This is because communities will be fully indexed, meaning all the content they contain can and will be found by Google and displayed as search results. Basically, they’ll function just like Facebook groups, except they’ll have the added benefit of SEO.

If Google+ can get the users, then communities will be a game changer. The big question remains though: CAN they get the users?
